Mike Anderson As a member of the Virginia Counselors Association, Mike is President and Agency Director of Anderson Counseling Services (ACS). ACS is a Licensed community mental health agency headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia with an office in Danville and it's surrounding counties. Mike is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor who loves listening to the stories of his clients. Mike is passionate about helping clients resolve tough issues that are creating distress. Eager to learn better ways to serve clients and colleagues, Mike continues his educational studies in professional counseling and the  EdD program of Leadership Studies at the University of Lynchburg (formerly Lynchburg College). Mike's clinical focus is oriented in human growth and development and the object relations theory. As a member of the steering committee for the urban education task force, Mike serves as a faculty member on a select group of faculty teaching at the University of Lynchburg for teacher education program to enhance outcomes for urban students. Mike credits his achievements to his commitment to his faith, and a sense of calling to the helping profession. Mike has been happily married to Matrice for over 20 years. The couple has a daughter and a son. Mike enjoys reading, classic cars, fitness training and coaching youth sports. Mike is the President of and chairman for Grow A Future, Inc a 501c3 non profit that serves to provide free educational services to youth who desire to become the right kind of leaders in various communities. Mike also serves on the community policing advisory committee for the Lynchburg City police department. Michael has compiled over 26 years of clinical and administrative experience to direct one of the most successful and caring private mental health organizations in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
